Cyclone filter
Sand can be separated from the water by using the cyclone filter.
The water enters from the side through the cylindrical part. The flow of water changes angle and exerts a centrifugal force.
Solid particles that are heavier than water are thrown against the edge. Gravity causes them to flow in a vortex into the cone, where they are separated from the system.
